The Fourteenth Rockdale Math Competition
The 14th RMC was held on October 27, 2018.
We had a total of 148 four-person teams which registered this year before the deadline. This translates to 592 students!
Once again, we offered an ARML-style competition, with a Power, Team, Relay, and Individual rounds. Each school was invited to bring a four-student teams in each of middle school, junior varsity, or varsity.
As with previous years, we continued the weighting of the Individual Round problems based on how many participants incorrectly answered each question (see the October 2013 page for more details). This file shows the percentage of participants who got each problem incorrect, and thus, these were the weights assigned to each problem.
The competition papers will be included in the second “Problem Book” for the years 2015 to 2024.
Team trophies were awarded to the top 3 teams in each of middle school, junior varsity, and varsity per classification. We awarded the highest-scoring students in each of middle school, junior varsity, and varsity a Championship Medal. We also awarded the highest scoring student from each school a School Winner Medal. Additionally, the overall first place team winners in each of the middle school, JV, and varsity divisions won a Rockdale Math Competition T-shirt.
